The architect owners have a wealth of experience sailing around the Caribbean and living on other islands and they have drawn on all these experiences to produce this unique family compound of 3 freestanding cottages and assorted outbuildings.
Wooden construction, mostly cedar, hardwoods and mahogany it features lots of individual design elements, the most popular being the original Gingerland Post Office sign which welcomes visitors to the main house.
Sited at the end of a private cul de sac, with only one near neighbour. This incredibly discreet setting benefits from its own path directly from the garden, to the stunning Golden Rock Inn, which has been fabulously restored by New York artists Helen and Brice Marden.
A wooden verandah envelopes the main building offering ample space for dining, relaxing and taking in the expansive views over the Atlantic. The wooden theme is carried throughout the house, gorgeous hard wood floors, bespoke mahogany kitchen and dining area. There is a built-in snug on the other side for relaxing and watching TV, which can double as extra sleeping area for kids and upstairs a cottage style attic style bedroom.
The master is another independent cottage, so you can get away from it all and have complete privacy and quiet. A wooden four poster sets the scene for this relaxing room that exudes tranquil vibes from a bygone era. The ensuite bathroom includes vanity, WC and a clawfoot bathtub and shower.
The self contained guest cottage, nestled down a pathway through the gardens, is the ideal space for visitors, affording lots of privacy. It features a queen sized bed, a kitchenette and ensuite bathroom and a verandah to take in the views.
In addition there is a laundry cottage, gardening shed and general storage and a screened vegetable patch so you can grow your own produce without the cheeky monkeys running off with all your spoils!
The generous garden is stocked with a huge variety of palms, tropical plants, fruit trees and flowers, rock stone walls and all offset with quirky design elements found on their travels.
