Tamarind Tor is an older home nestled on a spectacular parcel of land, acquired by the early adopter crowd who discovered Nevis as the perfect island for a holiday home back in the 70s. In those days it was not uncommon to get around astride a donkey, there were hardly any cars and no Four Seasons either for that matter – these early pioneers had the pick of the lots and 1.5 acre parcels in this area, walking distance to the beach, are not easily available these days.
The home is perched high on the lot to take advantage of a 180 degree view of the Caribbean Sea, framed by St Kitts on the horizon, offering up dramatic sunsets night after night and twinkling lights after dark. You can while away many hours looking at morning cruise ship arrivals into St Kitts and inter island boat traffic zipping across the glass-like water like fireflies.
GREAT ROOM
The main room of the house is a comfortable sitting room with French doors opening up the verandah on two sides to take advantage of the views. High cathedral ceiling with substantial beams add a rustic feature and it is hung with ceiling fans – keeping it cool !
KITCHEN
A bijou galley kitchen is snug and compact and includes everything you need – especially when you live outdoors most of the time !
BEDROOM 1 with ENSUITE SHOWER ROOM
The main bedroom is at the front of the villa and has French doors opening onto the verandah – high cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan and ensuite shower room.
BEDROOM 2 with ENSUITE SHOWER ROOM
Set up as a twin room presently with en suite shower room.
BEDROOM 3 & GARAGE
There is a snug bedroom with powder room and ceiling fan attached to the garage block – offering further options to create maybe a guest apartment here.
LAUNDRY
A separate laundry block includes washer and laundry sink and some further storage.
This is a convivial neighbourhood of full timers and a scattering of holiday homes, the enclave set just down from Oualie Beach and Bay, the hub of family swimming and all watersports activities, including the Nevis Aquatic & Sailing Centre and the brand new water taxi pier – the inter island artery and only 8 minutes to St Kitts!
A great range of eateries are nearby including Oualie Beach Hotel Bar & Restaurant, On the Rocks, L’Escale, Yubrenta’s, Dew Drop and a bit further towards town the unmissable Indian Summer, Barefoot and Yachtsman Grill.
10 minutes to the Four Seasons for 18 holes of golf, tennis and pickle ball and a host of restaurants and a sumptuous spa.
The charming capital of Charlestown is only a 10-15 minute drive for all your shopping, banking, cafes, passenger ferry to Basseterre and of course The Alexander Hamilton Museum and Bath Hot Springs.
